The African University Institute of Sciences and Technology (AUIST) is a modern higher education institution designed to train Africa’s next generation of professionals in healthcare, science, technology, and management.

Founded as the academic extension of the Cameroon Oncology Center (COC)—a world-class cancer diagnosis and treatment hospital—AUIST blends rigorous academic learning with hospital-based, real-world experience.

AUIST operates through two major schools:

COC-SHST

Cameroon Oncology Center – School of Health Sciences and Technology

COC-TM

Cameroon Oncology Center – School of Technology and Management

Each school is driven by our mission to produce ethical, competent, and innovative professionals ready to impact health systems, tech-driven businesses, research, and development across Africa.

Our Origins: AUIST and the Cameroon Oncology Center

AUIST was born from the Cameroon Oncology Center’s long-standing commitment to evidence-based care and innovation in cancer treatment. Recognizing the shortage of skilled professionals in cancer care, medical technology, and healthcare management, the center created AUIST to bridge clinical expertise and academic excellence.

Through this strong partnership, AUIST integrates live hospital environments and enterprise systems into its academic training. Students gain real-world exposure, collaborate with professionals, and actively participate in clinical, research, and administrative work.

This distinctive hospital-based learning model produces graduates who are not only job-ready but also equipped to lead health and technology innovation across the continent.
